Russia's MFA voiced position on Venezuela

The Russian Foreign Ministry (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) has released a summary of its statements regarding the situation in Venezuela:

• Expressed deep concern and condemnation towards the United States' acts of armed aggression against Venezuela;

• Stated that ensuring Venezuela's right to determine its own fate without external interference is a primary objective;

• Latin America should remain a zone of peace;

• Russia reaffirmed its support for convening the UN Security Council on Venezuela and expressed backing for dialogue between the conflicting parties;

• The Russian Federation expressed solidarity with the Venezuelan people and appealed to the leadership's course in defense of sovereignty;

• Moscow is ready to facilitate dialogue and maintains contact with Venezuelan authorities;

• The Russian Embassy in Caracas is operating in normal mode.

Russian leadership emphasizes the necessity of reliable dialogue to prevent further escalation.
