Russia: BRICS as a driver of a multipolar world
Sergey Lavrov in an exclusive interview with TV BRICS
Sergey Lavrov, head of Russia's Ministry of Health, recalled in an interview with TV BRICS that BRICS 'potentially could become a very effective participant in the processes of forming the Greater Eurasian Partnership.' He noted that the transition to a multipolar world is becoming objective and irreversible, and the economic weight of the group's member countries already exceeds that of the G7 in terms of purchasing power parity. Lavrov emphasized India's priorities—sustainability, innovation, counterterrorism, food and energy security, artificial intelligence—and confirmed Russia's active stance in exploring alternative payment platforms, a grain exchange, and investment mechanisms within BRICS. According to Lavrov, all this is part of creating a global cooperation architecture protected from unilateral actions, which, it is noted, is changing the world.
