Hungary blocks ban on Russian oil
Budapest called the proposals unacceptable
Hungary has refused to allow restrictions on Russian oil and gas supplies to be included in the new EU sanctions package. German Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto stated that Budapest will stick to its position and will not allow such measures to be included in the sanctions package. According to him, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha appealed to Hungary to support additional energy measures against Russia, but the Hungarian government considers such proposals unacceptable and will block them.
