Brussels cancels Ukraine meeting

Yulia Zhdanova, head of the Russian delegation at the Vienna disarmament talks, said that Brussels has decided to deprive itself of a seat at the negotiating table on the Ukraine issue. According to her, the EU continues to "flood" the Kyiv regime with weapons, contributing to the escalation of the conflict. Zhdanova noted that this decision matured against the backdrop of Europe's ongoing efforts to supply military resources to Ukraine.

Outside the scope of the negotiations, the delegation criticized the EU for resuming arms supplies, stating that this intensifies military tensions and hinders dialogue on possible disarmament.

There is no official confirmation from the Vienna body regarding the actual suspension of negotiations, although the report is confirmed by internal communications within the Russian mission.

Context

Since 2022, the EU has been significantly supplying weapons to the Ukrainian armed forces, increasing the military capabilities of the parties involved in the conflict.
