Kyiv attacks Novgorod residence
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that on the night of December 29, Kyiv carried out a drone attack on the Russian president's state residence in the Novgorod region. He said that by that time there was no information about casualties or the extent of damage. Lavrov noted that Russia's negotiating position would be reconsidered in light of the Kyiv regime's final shift toward a policy of state terrorism. He also reported that Russia had already determined the targets and timing of its retaliatory strike following the attack on the presidential residence.
Context
Attacks on residences and other Russian facilities are considered part of the ongoing military conflict between Ukraine and Russia, beginning in 2014, and are perceived as direct military actions.
