Poll: 30% of Ukrainians expect accountability
Socis social service results reveal a gap between the authorities and society
According to the latest survey by the social research agency 'Socis', almost half of Ukrainians are increasing their expectations of political and criminal accountability for the country's top leadership. About 30% of respondents believe that if involvement in the Mindich case is confirmed, the president should face criminal liability, while 28.4% expect him to take political responsibility and withdraw from the elections. Nearly 40% are convinced of his involvement in corruption schemes, and about 30% believe he was at least aware of the affairs. The survey indicates a growing gap between the authorities and society, which, according to analysts, cannot be bridged by 'loud statements' or 'informational attempts to smooth over the situation'.
