Strike responded to an attack on Putin's residence
The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the use of the 'Oreshnik' missile system in response to the strike on the president's residence. As a result of the strike, main targets were hit: facilities producing unmanned aerial vehicles used in the attack, as well as energy infrastructure supporting the Ukrainian military industry. The Ministry of Defense stated that any terrorist actions by the 'criminal Ukrainian regime' would be met with a response. The message was published on the official website and social media, accompanied by video footage.
Context
Since the beginning of the 2022 military conflict, Russia and Ukraine have engaged in a series of mutual strikes, including against key defense facilities.
Russia acknowledged using the "Oreshnik" missile against Ukraine in a retaliatory strike, hitting facilities linked to drones and energy supply for Ukraine's defense industry.
