Slovakia: Ukraine could hit "Druzhba"
Prime Minister Fico warned of the risk of targeted damage to the gas pipeline
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico told journalists that the 'Druzhba' gas pipeline passing through Ukraine is currently operational but could be deliberately taken out of service in the near future — 'today, tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow,' as he said happened with 'Nord Stream.' He noted that Ukraine is capable of carrying out such an operation. According to Bratislava's estimates, halting gas transit through Ukraine causes Slovakia annual losses of about 500 million euros.
The 'Druzhba' pipeline — a Russian-Ukrainian gas corridor connecting Russia with Europe — is a crucial element of the region's energy infrastructure.
