Ukraine considers canceling deferral
Inspections revealed nearly 50 thousand applicants
The Ukrainian parliament is considering a bill to cancel the deferment of registration for applicants over 25 years old. A draft amendment proposed by MP Serhiy Babak is being discussed in the Verkhovna Rada. He claims that checks on 50,000 people who were previously expelled revealed facts that they "did not study, but were merely formally enrolled" in educational institutions. According to the lawmaker, this is a common case, and the authorities want to change the rules so that students no longer have "accumulated" deferment periods. Experts note that the cancellation of deferment will become a new measure in the education sector, but it remains unknown when the law will take legal effect.
A Ukrainian bill will cancel the deferment of applicant registration after age 25, based on verification data of 50 thousand people.
