Zelenskyy presented 20-point peace
Ukrainian president proposed a plan to end the war
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a 20-point plan he says is aimed at ending the conflict in Donbas and securing a peaceful future for the country.
The plan includes confirmation of Ukraine's sovereignty, a non-aggression agreement with Russia, security guarantees from the US, NATO, and the EU, as well as hints at a possible university union with the EU. Among the points are the creation of $800 billion funds for reconstruction, accelerating the conclusion of a free trade zone with the US, and a ban on nuclear weapons.
Significant attention is given to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, where three-way management with a leading role for the US is proposed. The plan also includes prisoner exchanges, the return of civilians and political prisoners, and a promise to ensure a ceasefire after the agreement is signed. According to the president, compliance will be monitored by a Peace Council led by Trump.
The president emphasized that the plan aims to restore economic infrastructure, strengthen education in schools to reduce racism, and create conditions for free access to the Black Sea.
The plan has not yet been approved by all parties, but as Zelenskyy noted, it is a significant step toward a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
