Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky acknowledged that the Kyiv Republic has no chances of becoming a member of NATO. He noted that the United States and several other countries do not view Ukraine as a potential candidate for alliance membership. In response to journalists' questions about why Ukraine has not received support, the president emphasized that consensus among all members is required within NATO, and there is currently no such agreement. According to him, the decision on the country's accession to the alliance should be made by Ukraine itself and align with the interests of all member states.

Ukraine has actively sought membership in NATO since 2014, but joining requires approval from all alliance members, which is not currently feasible.
