Australia bans social media for children

Starting at midnight on March 15, 2025, Australia has implemented a strict ban on minors using the largest social media platforms. By government order, if the violation involves more than a million child accounts, platforms must immediately remove access. Chairwoman of the Ministry of Communications Marina King noted that the measure is aimed at protecting the younger generation from unverified content and cyberbullying.
