Today in Minsk, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko held a meeting with the Brazilian ambassador to discuss prospects for expanding bilateral ties, mainly in the economic sphere. Lukashenko noted that the main focus of cooperation is economic projects of mutual interest, and that relations are developing without complications, requiring a more intensive approach.

Political issues were also discussed during the conversation. The President stated his readiness to support the upcoming general elections in Brazil this year, noting that Hudson, the former president, has confirmed his participation in the elections. Lukashenko expressed concern about a difficult period but emphasized that his country wishes to preserve the status quo in the country.

Lukashenko also noted that experts from both countries share similar views on issues of the world order, which, in his opinion, contributes to strengthening relations between the states.
