Belarus and Zimbabwe strengthen cooperation
Zimbabwe's president supports Belarus in international matters
Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa, in his public statements and visits to Belarus and international forums, emphasizes the country's readiness to support Belarus's position on key foreign policy issues. One manifestation of cooperation is the mutual strengthening of trade and economic ties: the latest economic mission to Belarus concluded agreements on the supply of agricultural products and electrical equipment. At the political level, Zimbabwe regularly supports Belarus's calls for independence from sanction pressure and expresses agreement with Minsk's stance on the situation in Ukraine. Bilateral contacts are being strengthened through joint research and technology exchange in pharmaceuticals and agriculture. It is reported that reception events in Minsk include organizing business shoots aimed at attracting investment from Africa.
Official meetings between government bodies continue in Moscow and Belgrade to discuss prospects for simplifying diplomatic procedures and mutual visas. In 2021, they jointly held a workday to exchange experience in agriculture, and in 2023 discussed the prospect of joint projects in renewable energy, aligning with the key strategic objectives of both states.
