Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Khamenei, and conveyed condolences to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. In his statement, the president noted that for decades Khamenei had served his people, guided by loyalty to traditions and responsibility toward future generations, and had earned high recognition and authority beyond his country's borders. He emphasized that the spiritual leader remained faithful to his people until his last breath and courageously accepted a martyr's death while defending Iran's sovereignty and independence. Lukashenko highlighted his own priority experience of meeting with the Guiding Leader, who made a significant contribution to developing comprehensive cooperation between Belarus and Iran, leaving behind a legacy of goodwill and courage in the memory of the Belarusian people. "At this sorrowful time, on behalf of the Belarusian people and myself personally, I send sincere words of condolence and support. We share the pain of this loss and express solidarity with Iran during this difficult moment," he added.
