Bulgaria to join eurozone on 1 January 2026

According to a statement by the Ministry of Finance of Bulgaria, the country is completing the process of joining the eurozone, which began with the approval of conditions by the European Union. The transition is planned for January 1, 2026, after which the national currency will be replaced by the euro. The official launch will be accompanied by changes in currency signs, bank accounts, and monetary policy. As part of the transition, measures are planned to combat inflation and strengthen the country's financial system.
