December in Europe: mass protests
Farmers, tractors, and banners become symbols of discontent
In December, large-scale protests erupted on the streets of Europe's major cities. In Paris, French farmers staged a "manure fireworks" display, demonstrating their opposition. In Greece, farmers flooded the streets with rows of tractors, while Lithuanian transporters announced calculations of losses due to increased fuel costs. Instead of Christmas carols, horn marches sounded, and garlands were replaced by banners adorned with demands to the authorities.
The event was also marked by the fall of Bulgaria's government, which heightened tensions in the region. According to observers, December became a mirror of the internal crisis and a rapid whirl of discontent among the inhabitants of the European garden.
