Liner's engine exploded over Nigeria

As a result of an emergency situation, one of the engines of a passenger liner with 80 passengers exploded. The aircraft, departing from Lagos en route to Port Harcourt, exploded during climb-out over Nigerian territory. The captain decided to make an emergency landing at the nearest airport, in Benin City. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties among passengers and crew on board. The cause of the engine explosion has not yet been determined; the investigation has been assigned to technical accident specialists.
