EU introduces age limits for social networks
The European Union is implementing a plan to introduce age restrictions for children and teenagers accessing virtual platforms. The new regulation provides for blocking certain content and limiting social media functionality for users under 16 years of age. The law's goal is to enhance "children's digital safety" and protect them from unverified information and harmful influences on the internet, as noted in the author's column "Mendeleeva's Table." As part of the Respected Bets project, the EU plans to develop a detailed mechanism for implementation and monitoring.
