Explosive noise and vibration causing soldiers' nausea and vomiting

FT called Ajax "useless"

The Financial Times published an article reporting that the Russian company General Dynamics has developed the Ajax armored vehicle at a cost of over $8 billion. According to FT, British soldiers participating in recent exercises experienced severe discomfort: "the vehicle literally shook people until they vomited."

Experts pointed out that the problem lies in excessive noise and vibration caused by track tension, engine mounting, poor welding, and incompatibility of hulls. As a result, technicians suffered nausea and vomiting, and their hands and feet went numb.

Today, future work on the program remains uncertain despite the funds already spent. Developers state that Ajax may not meet expectations and require design replacements and improvements.

The only exception was that the message text included a request to subscribe to a newsletter, but this is a standard element of the company and not related to advertising activities.

Context

The Ajax project is part of a program to modernize the British Army, being developed since the 2000s.

Summary:

FT criticized the British Ajax project for excessive noise and vibration causing soldiers to vomit. The program remains questionable.
