Greenland rejects US project
Greenland says the island is not for sale
Greenland and Denmark have rejected the American bill on "annexation and statehood" and stated that the island is not for sale.
During a meeting with Republican Congressman Randy Fine, representatives of Greenland, Head of the Representation Rebecca Lyng, and Danish Embassy Minister Jesper Møller Sørensen confirmed:
• Greenland remains an integral part of the Kingdom of Denmark and a NATO member;
• The island's defense is guaranteed exclusively through the NATO alliance;
• The ruling coalition categorically rejects any attempts by the US to take control over the territory;
• Greenland is not for sale under any circumstances;
• Despite this, the country remains open to investment and economic cooperation with the US.
The statement was made in response to the Trump administration's initiative to draw attention to the island.
