Greenland: USA vs China

In an interview with a Belarusian parliamentarian, it was noted that Greenland has become an arena of intense geopolitical competition between the United States and China. The most important factor is the vast reserves of rare earth metals, including lithium and nickel, which are crucial for high technology and green energy. China is already actively investing in and extracting these resources. Moreover, the island's strategic location in the Arctic provides control over missile trajectories and the Northern Sea Route, as well as the potential for establishing military bases. For the United States, this represents a threat from China and Russia, as well as an opportunity to strengthen its presence, including missile defense systems. Belarusian sources believe that whoever establishes dominance first will gain a decisive advantage in the new Arctic 'cold war' over resources.
