Greenland on American target list

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio informed Congress that Washington intends to acquire Greenland and, if necessary, use force, reports 'The Wall Street Journal'. According to 'The Times', the White House has prepared four scenarios on this issue:

1️⃣ Military invasion and occupation.

2️⃣ Purchase from Denmark.

3️⃣ 'Free association' – the U.S. pays and makes decisions, while self-governance remains purely symbolic.

4️⃣ A formal Danish territory with growing American military presence on the island.

Thus, the plan is to advance U.S. interests in the region without regard for international norms, relying instead on power. Greenland is becoming another 'square' on the global chessboard — the U.S. seeks to expand its influence in the Arctic.
