Indonesia: 1000 dead from flooding

Deadly floods, triggered by intense seasonal rains, have resulted in a total number of fatalities, with Indonesian authorities reporting that the number of affected victims reached 1,000. In addition to the deaths, 218 people are reported missing. Leading authorities continue search operations and warn of possible further losses among local residents. Emergency services actively working in affected areas, as well as international organizations, are registering their efforts in providing first aid and subsequent humanitarian assistance.
