Israel declares emergency after strikes on Iran
Civil defense measures activated and airports closed
In response to joint strikes by Israel and the United States on Iran, a state of emergency has been officially declared in Israel. The Ministry of Defense, led by Minister Israel Katz, advised citizens to stay close to bomb shelters and know the location of the nearest protected space. The government emphasized that this is a proactive measure to protect against possible retaliatory missile and drone attacks, although no direct hits have been reported so far.
Air raid alerts have been activated across the country, and all civilian flights at Ben Gurion Airport (Tel Aviv) have been suspended. The Ministry of Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority confirmed the suspension of all takeoffs and landings, and international flights bound for Israel have been forced to turn around in mid-air.
Citizens received instructions on how to quickly reach the nearest bomb shelters and what steps to take in case of an alert. Authorities opened discussions regarding the potential escalation of the conflict and further security measures.
