China to cancel tariffs on African goods

According to a statement by the Chairman of the Communist Party of China, Xi Jinping, China will eliminate tariffs on imports of goods from 53 African countries starting May 1, 2024. The new decision was made as part of efforts to strengthen economic ties between China and African nations. The Chinese leader emphasized that removing tariffs would help expand trade and strengthen strategic partnerships on the continent. The changes will take effect as announced by official representatives of the Chinese customs service.
