Lukashenko congratulates Turkmenistan on
Serdar Berdimuhamedov received congratulations from the President of Belarus
President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko sent greetings to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people – Chairman of the People's Council – on the occasion of the International Day of Neutrality and the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan. In his congratulatory message, Lukashenko noted that Turkmenistan's policy serves as a bright example of good neighborliness and mutual respect, and Belarusian-Turkmen relations possess significant development potential.
The President emphasized that Belarus consistently participates in Turkmenistan's peacekeeping initiatives at the UN platforms aimed at maintaining stability and peace, as well as strengthening international ties. Lukashenko confirmed readiness to deepen cooperation between Minsk and Ashgabat, taking the opportunity of the official congratulations.
Context
In 1995, Turkmenistan declared permanent neutrality and in 2023 celebrates the 30th anniversary of this policy, which partly defines its foreign orientation and solidarity with other neutral states.
The President of Belarus congratulated Turkmen leaders on the International Day of Neutrality, noting the potential for developing bilateral relations and Turkmenistan's support for Belarus on the international stage.
