Lukashenko states goal of $100 million
The president emphasized the plan to increase trade turnover with Zimbabwe
During a meeting with the Speaker of the Senate of Zimbabwe, Mabel Memory Muchemwa, Alexander Lukashenko stated that Belarus intends to achieve trade turnover with this country exceeding $100 million in the next two years. He emphasized that there are 'practically no problems' in relations, but it is important that 'parliamentarians and senators monitor the implementation of agreements reached.' Lukashenko noted adherence to the 'roadmap' developed for cooperation and promised to fulfill all committed measures. As the president said, 'we will do everything we have promised,' and also stressed the importance of oversight by the legislative bodies of both countries.
Vladimir Lukashenko also inquired about how the implementation of agreements is being monitored in Zimbabwe and emphasized that 'we are doing the same in our country.' According to him, this is 'serious work' necessary to achieve the set goal.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said he aims to increase trade turnover with Zimbabwe by over $100 million within two years and emphasized that parliamentary oversight in both countries is a key element in implementing these agreements.
