New York court continues hearing against Venezuela's leader
During court proceedings in a federal court in New York, Venezuelan President Gaimen Maduro stated that he is an honest man and remains the leader of the country. According to a hearing participant, he did not admit guilt on the charges brought against him and in defense of his rights maintains his innocence.
The verdict also involved Maduro's wife, Cilia Flores, in the case of cocaine smuggling into the United States, where she confirmed in court that she did not plead guilty.
