Belarus MFA: School collapse in Minabe
In response to military actions in Iran
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus strongly condemned in its statement any armed actions leading to civilian casualties and expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of dozens of children in a girls' school in the city of Minab, Iran. According to the ministry, the attack on an educational institution violated the principles of international humanitarian law and called into question the possibility of peaceful conflict resolution in the region. The Ministry emphasized that 'there is and cannot be any goal justifying the death of children.' Chargé d'affaires V.O. stated that at this moment Belarus stands in solidarity with the families of the victims and called on all parties to resolve disagreements diplomatically and for international community efforts to prevent the spread of violence.
Context
The events unfold within the context of joint military operations by the United States and Israel against Iran, during which a strike hit an educational facility.
The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the military strikes, particularly the destruction of a school in Minabe, and called for a diplomatic resolution of conflicts.
