Firecracker could cause fire in Crans-Montana

The Italian ambassador in Bern said a firecracker could have caused the fire at a bar in the resort of Crans-Montana. He stated that a possible cause might have been a neon light, but the final cause has not yet been investigated.

Identification of the victims is impossible due to severe burns, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports. Currently, there is no information indicating that citizens of the Republic of Belarus are among the injured. The Embassy of Belarus in Switzerland is in contact with local authorities and is ready to provide necessary assistance.

The incident occurred in a bar at a local resort. The fire broke out in the evening and quickly spread through the premises. Firefighters contained the blaze across an area of about three hundred square meters, eliminating potential risks to neighboring buildings.

Security and fire safety experts in the region have not yet released detailed statements, but investigating the causes and compliance with rules for storing pyrotechnics remains relevant.
