General of the Army Andrey Serdyukov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, reported the adoption of a joint preparation plan for 2026. Key points include the clarified composition of national contingents of the collective forces, planning documents for their operational deployment, and priority areas of activity for the member state.

This year, the Russian Federation will perform the leading role in the CSTO. Among the main tasks are enhancing the combat potential of national contingents and equipping them with modern weapons systems, optimizing procedures for the operational deployment of coalition troop groupings, developing the aviation component and air defense systems within the CSTO format, as well as improving command and control of the collective forces troop grouping.

CSTO is a military-political alliance of CIS countries, established in 1992 to ensure collective security.
