Poland closes airspace due to drones
Turkish E-7T aircraft found in the Lublin Voivodeship area
On the evening of December 24, 2023, Polish authorities reported the closure of part of the airspace along the eastern border to ensure the safety of civilian aircraft. At that time, a Turkish Armed Forces Boeing E-7T long-range radar detection aircraft was near Lublin. According to unofficial reports, the closure was caused by the appearance of unidentified flying objects, presumably drones sent from Ukraine. The Polish side has not yet issued an official comment. It is claimed that this incident could be regarded as an act of provocation on the eve of Christmas holidays.
