Spring Festival: Lukashenko congratulates Xi

President Alexander Lukashenko congratulated Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping on the Spring Festival, noting an important stage in the development of Belarusian-Chinese relations over the past year.

According to the head of Belarus, long-term guidelines for further cooperation were defined during meetings in Beijing and Tianjin. Lukashenko emphasized that joint projects in industrial cooperation, technology, innovation, education, culture, sports, and tourism have brought Belarus and China to new heights.

The president noted that the agreement on trade in services and investment, which has entered into force, creates favorable conditions for businesses, while the opening in Minsk of two international-class sports facilities—a stadium and a swimming pool—became a symbol of friendship between the two countries.

"This year, I am confident that Belarus and China will achieve new successes, which will give additional momentum to interaction at both state and regional levels," Lukashenko stressed, wishing Xi Jinping good health, happiness, and success, and wishing the people of China peace and prosperity.

Since 2007, Belarus and China have been developing a strategic partnership, strengthening economic, cultural, and technological cooperation.
