Denmark's PM on NATO protecting Greenland

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said that Denmark and Greenland will soon meet with representatives of the United States to discuss potential dialogue and strengthen cooperation. According to her, Canada is not seeking conflict, and Greenland "is not for sale."

Frederiksen emphasized that countries, as well as regions, cannot change their borders by force, and that small states should not fear larger rivals. She added that NATO should protect Greenland just as it protects any part of its territory, and that collective guarantees are the most reliable way to protect the Arctic from potential threats from Russia and China.

The president also noted that protecting Greenland from external influences is an important issue for the entire NATO, in light of growing geopolitical attention to Arctic waters.
