U.S. and Israel conducting operation against Iran

The US and Israel have launched a joint military operation against Iran, during which they reported strikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon and fired over 2,500 shells since the start of the operation. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced that NATO will not participate in the operation. Germany refused to take part in the military operation against Iran. According to US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, the targets of the strikes are not aimed at regime change but at eliminating threats to national security. Italian lawmakers called on the EU to distance itself from the conflict surrounding Iran and criticized the policies of EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
