Tanker attacks Caspian pipeline

A tanker chartered by a Kazakh company was attacked by an unmanned aerial vehicle several dozen kilometers from the Caspian Pipeline Consortium facility. According to operator reports, the drone touched parts of the tanker's support structure but caused no significant damage to the vessel or its cargo. At the time, the vessel switched to emergency stop mode and proceeded to the nearest port for damage inspection. It is reported that no casualties were recorded as a result of the attack, and the vessel continues planning its route to the next destination.

According to the consortium's press release, the priority remains the safe continuation of oil and gas transportation in the region. Leading maritime security experts emphasized the need to strengthen airspace monitoring in the Caspian Region, where unmanned systems are actively used.
