Trump: seized Venezuelan tanker
Trump stated on Truth Social that "we seized" a tanker carrying Venezuelan oil that left without permission. He reported that the U.S., together with the "Interim Government of Venezuela," returned the vessel. According to him, all the oil will be sold through a "GREAT Energy Deal"—a special scheme for such transactions. The White House is currently packed: Trump is meeting with representatives from Chevron, Exxon, ConocoPhillips, Halliburton, Valero, Marathon, Shell, Trafigura, Vitol, Repsol, Eni, and other major oil companies. He claimed he personally promised to invest at least $100 million to restore Venezuela's oil industry. Yesterday, he said the U.S. received Venezuelan oil worth $4 million in a single day, and the "Interim Authorities" are ready to deliver up to 50 million barrels. Trump noted that everything he wanted has been "taken" from him.
