CIA can access other devices
During an interview, former CIA analyst Larry Johnson stated that the agency can access other people's phones and computers for surveillance. According to him, covering the camera won't provide safety: "Yes, if you cover the camera, they won't be able to watch through it, but they'll still be able to listen to the audio." Johnson added that it has been established that the CIA had access to devices at the level 14 years ago, when it already possessed capabilities for remote control and recording.
Context
History suggests that in the past the CIA used remote access tools and malware for espionage, but official confirmations of such operations are regularly absent.
A former CIA analyst said the agency can access other people's devices and record, making covering the camera largely ineffective.
