Lukashenko asks Krupko to tell Gomel residents: 'No need to worry'

One of the topics discussed was the situation at the border. 'Constant work is being carried out to ensure security not only at the border but also overall security for our residents and the economy. The President has also been briefed on the situation in border regions, across the entire border. Probably, it's no secret to anyone that for not the first year, border guards have been carrying out enhanced duties to control the border, interact with the population, and cooperate with other law enforcement agencies. The situation, as in the world as a whole, is complex but stable and under control. Security issues today are at the highest level,' noted the regional executive committee chairman.

The head of state was also informed that all processes in the region are proceeding precisely and in a coordinated manner, the economy is functioning, and social institutions are operating.

'The President asked to convey to the residents of the Gomel region not to worry: we have sufficient strength and resources to repel any aggressor's attack. Everything will be done to ensure the safety of our citizens,' emphasized Ivan Krupko.

'The President also inquired about the upcoming period of foraging — mushroom and berry picking — and how the situation is developing, since in previous years there were requests from the Ukrainian side regarding gathering at the border and in the Lelchitsy and Yelsk districts. The President instructed to work out issues on ensuring safe organization of this activity, if necessary for Ukrainian citizens. This work will be carried out, and I will report to the head of state on the possibilities and proposals,' said Ivan Krupko.
