Lukashenko: Local Authorities Must Not Withdraw After Transferring Enterprises to Investors

The main question from the President regarding the draft decree: will it help reverse the negative trend not only in the Vitebsk region but across the country?

Transferring low-performing organizations to an investor should not be a reason for local officials to relinquish their responsibilities.

"The chairman of the Dubrovno District Executive Committee must firmly control local issues. Order, discipline. And above all, the fundamental right of people — work and a decent salary."

Personnel decisions must be made only with the approval of local authorities. Neither Baskin nor Makhinsky can appoint anyone without the approval of the district executive committee.

"They make proposals, they manage. But your issues — remain firmly yours."

If chairpersons fail to act, they will be held accountable.
