Employment Contracts
- Fixed-term contract (контракт) — 1–5 years, most common form in Belarus. Employer can offer a bonus for signing
- Open-ended contract — No end date, can be terminated with 1 month notice
- Civil law contract (ГПД) — For freelancers and project work, no social guarantees
Contracts must be in written form and comply with the Labour Code of Belarus.
Hiring Foreign Workers
- EAEU citizens (Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan): no work permit needed
- Citizens of Ukraine: simplified procedure as of 2022
- All other foreigners: employer must obtain a special permit from the Ministry of Interior
- Work permit quota: employers must apply to the Department of Citizenship and Migration
- HTP employees: special simplified rules apply
