Residence Registration in Belarus
All foreigners staying in Belarus must register their place of temporary residence. It takes a few minutes online — or you can do it in person at the migration office. Missing the deadline carries a fine.

And who is exempt
All foreigners temporarily staying in Belarus must register at their place of residence within 10 days of arrival (not counting Sundays and public holidays). The following are exempt:

3Find the registration serviceLog in → Available Services → Citizenship and Migration → Temporary registration of foreign citizens.

4Fill in the formYou will need: full name (as in passport, Latin or Cyrillic), passport number and validity, insurance policy details, date of entry, address of stay in Belarus.

5Submit — doneYou receive a confirmation message immediately. No paper document is issued — a screenshot is helpful, but verbal confirmation at departure is sufficient.
In-Person Registration
At the Citizenship and Migration Department
Required if you entered Belarus via Russia (where the online system is unavailable), or if you are renewing registration at the same address.
Documents required
- Valid passport
- Medical insurance valid in Belarus
- Migration card (obtained at the border)
- Payment receipt — fee is 0.5 base amounts (Br 22.50 as of 2026)
Find your local Citizenship and Migration Department at your district administration (raion ispolkom). In Minsk, the main office is at ul. Kommunisticheskaya 11.

Missing the 10-day deadline carries a fine
- First violation: fine of 2–10 base amounts (Br 90–450) for both the foreigner and the host
- Repeat violations: up to 30 base amounts (Br 1,350)
- Possible expulsion from Belarus and future entry ban
If you are staying at a private address (friend's apartment, rental), both you and your host are responsible for ensuring registration is completed on time.
