45,000 homes left without power after earthquake in Japan

After underground tremors, the Japan Meteorological Agency issued a tsunami warning for the coasts of Ariake and Yatsushiro bays.

The first waves have already reached the shore. Around 45,600 households in Kumamoto Prefecture are without electricity. There are no reports of casualties yet.

This is the strongest earthquake in the region since 2016, when 278 people died.
