About 150 Eskom workers exposed to radiation at South Africa's Koeberg nuclear plant
About 150 employees and contractors of Eskom were exposed to radioactive contamination at the Koeberg nuclear power plant in South Africa due to three separate incidents. According to local media, the incidents occurred on June 30, July 2, and July 7, caused by loss of power to ventilation units during maintenance work on unit 2. The South African National Nuclear Regulator (NNR) stated that there was no release of radioactive materials into the environment, all incidents were contained within the plant, and the workers received radiation doses lower than those received during an X-ray.
