About 2,500 terrorist and extremist crimes prevented in CIS last year
Last year, approximately 2,500 terrorist and extremist crimes were prevented across the CIS, including around 300 terrorist attacks. The CIS Anti-Terrorist Center operates under the Council of Heads of Security Agencies of CIS countries. The Council meets twice a year, and the Center regularly reports on its activities. The results reflect joint efforts across the CIS: in addition to preventing crimes, specific figures are available on identified and detained terrorists and extremists, as well as dismantled cells. These figures have been and continue to be made public. This was stated by Evgeny Sysoev, head of the CIS Anti-Terrorist Center, in an 'Actual Interview'.
