Alcohol production in Latvia drops by 36.3%

In the first half of the year, Latvia produced 15.539 million liters of alcoholic beverages (excluding beer). A year earlier, the figure for the same period was 24.394 million liters. The sharp decline was caused by strict restrictions on alcohol sales and increased excise taxes. Products became significantly more expensive, and colognes gained popularity.
