Archaeological excavations continue at 16th-century Kmita Castle in Grodno Region
The Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus reported that, at the Berezovets hillfort, archaeologists together with volunteers have for the first time discovered a fragment of a defensive wooden wall and remains of charred logs. The wall structure consisted of two parallel rows of vertically installed posts spaced 1.2 meters apart, with horizontal logs fitted into grooves. Earlier, archaeologists had already uncovered a gate entrance and a bridge at the same site.
