August 2026 became the hottest on record in Belarus, with temperatures nearly reaching the national high. On August 6, the temperature in Mazyr rose to +40.3°C, just 0.1°C below Belarus' record of +40.4°C set on June 29 in Pinsk. The previous hottest August was in 2010, when +38.9°C was recorded in Gomel.
