Belarus and Russia approve concept of joint military exercise 'Shield of the Union-2027'

The heads of the defense departments signed the final documents. Belarusian Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin, stated that the main event in the preparation of the armed forces of Belarus and Russia next year will be the joint operational exercise 'Shield of the Union-2027'.

"An important area of cooperation remains operational and combat training of the armed forces of Belarus and Russia. The key event next year will be the joint operational exercise 'Shield of the Union-2027', designed to demonstrate the resolve and ability to jointly defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our states and further improve the military security system of the Union State," he said, emphasizing that the exercise will be purely defensive in nature.
